Oceanic Waterbabies – a great swimming program for children!

March 16th, 2011

(Photos copyright Donna Rose Photography)
Waterbabies®
By Kelly Rae

Following the birth of my own babies, I had such a beautiful bonding experience in the bath with them and this inspired me to follow the water connection and venture to the swimming pool. There was little information available, books were rare to find and there was no internet. After searching thoroughly in Perth for that “special’ program, I was disappointed to find it didn’t exist so my quest to create one began.

Mentored by expert Australian infant aquatic pioneer Hugette (Cookie) Harkin, I fell in love with teaching babies to swim. My own children, who are now in their twenties, taught me the importance of the parent/child relationship in water and how early connections in water enhance the nurturing bond.

Teaching babies to swim is our passion yet we are far more than a swim school. Along with important aquatic skill development and numerous health benefits, Waterbabies® is indeed a special program offering unparalleled guidance for parents wishing to teach their babies to swim and learn so much more in the process.
